Manic Monday

arghh! panic!
a lecturer will be visitin me next monday! what does he expect? what do i tell him? what should i do?

okay, i’ll start by followin the procedures stated in the industrial training guideline instead. first, i’ll need to fill up the student report form. hmm…

of course i put “yes” la. put “no” need state why some more, so bein a lazy person as i am, i’ll rather put “yes” and skip the details.

i wonder what’s “routine work” about…

again, let’s go for “no”. you can tell how bored i am today for postin this…

MASUM 2008

Well, finally i have got the chance to blog (is my first time blogging.. hehe) about what i have been through for the last 3 weeks ever since my exam ended on 6 may! hmm.. looking back, i guess everything has been amazing. last year, was cameron camp which took 3 weeks of my holidays…. but never regretted going to the camp at all… :) right jinni??hehe btw, i just got back from kk on 28 may.

FYI, MASUM is majlis sukan antara universiti malaysia ( if i am not mistaken ) which all the local universities will participate in different events such as handball, softball, tennis, taekwondo, chess, netball, basketball, volleyball and etc. cant mention it all. quite a lot in fact.

okie lets go straight to the point. the training started on 7th may itself, directly the day after my exam ended. walao wei, no time for me to rest. anyway, we had training every morning and evening. however, for those who expect me to lose weight, i dun think i lose any lar. maybe 1-2 kg…but i gained some muscles i guess…..ate a lot. we trained at 5th kolej in UM for one week before leaving for kota kinabalu on 19th May.

*taking pic before training*

On 19th morning in lcct, i met kristy. she was on her way to cambodia. somehow, i was surprised seeing her coz its been long time since i last saw her. then something went wrong during that morning. my flight was delayed 2 hours later. i was the only one who was left behind. the rest flew off!!!! feeling frust, tired and mad. coz we woke up as early as 2.00 am to catch the flight at 6.50 pm. mana tau, i had to take 10.20 am flight together with the upm students….

here are some pics during the opening ceremony on 23rd may night at ums stadium. um was the first contigent which started to walk followed by other Unis.

here is a pic with my roomies!! they are Yap and Anin!! both of them older than me a year doing sport science.

and then a pic together wit jia xian from ipoh… a tennis player and yap (netball national player).

definitely the best way to end the opening ceremony is…..

fireworks display!!!

seriously, ums spent a lot for the opening ceremony. all credits should be given to them. practically, everyone feast their eyes on the fireworks display which was really unique and spectacular.

our first match started on 23rd morning itself. here are some pics together wit my teammates, coach (kak mayam) and manager (kak siti).

*having some fun after game*

seriously, the weather in kk is really hot and the sun is blazing hot like noone’s business.  so we bought fans!! at first, it costs us 8 bucks per fan. then we bargained lar, finally we got two for ten bucks which i still feel is expensive. nvm nvm….

wanna know wat is the results of the game overall???? hehe…we got first!!! all thanks to my teammates who have been playing really hard. they really deserved all the praises, glory, credits and so on…..=) the final match was really tough and competitive. we played against utm. the score was 35-33.

the game ended on 27 morning. closing ceremony was at 3.00pm. after the closing, we quickly cabut to town coz we havent got the chance to have fun ever since we reached, in other word, we were not really allowed to go out. anyway, we happily went to warisan square. i went crazy seeing yogur berry outlet… sells yogurt kind of ice cream. the first outlet opens in kk. well, it tastes nice. =) the scenery in that place is awesome.

overall, i really enjoyed myself during these 3 weeks. definitely there were ups and downs. but thank god, there were more ups and downs. hehehe. the ‘downs’ parts were jogging for quite a long distance- which really made me breathless, washing clothes 2 times day, sweat like a pig, falling down during training-causin some bruises and cuts, got stranded in airport all alone, wake up as early as 6.30 am every morning, fitness test (gosh, you have no idea what i have gone through) and whole body aching. but overall, it was all worth it. =)

enjoy the rest of the pics dudes!!

It’s a Dangerous World Out There

lang tengah, an island off the coast of terengganu which i will set foot on next saturday. it is located roughly halfway between pulau redang and pulau perhentian, and is connected to the mainland by ferries to merang.

if you directly translate lang tengah to english, it means “an eagle restin in the middle of the island”.

d’coconut lagoon, the resort i will be staying

nice leh the resort… but hey, i’m not goin there for holiday okay! i’m goin there for mct’s proposed teambuildin module, called structured outdoor survival (s.o.s). it ain’t gonna be a laze-all-you-want-till-we-go-home vacation, but a tirin lack-of-sleep-and-need-more-sleep “vacation”.

it will be a 3 days outin to lang tengah, startin friday midnight where i’ll be departin from mct, uep subang jaya by bus. it is said to be a long 8 hours journey to the jetty in merang, and another 1 hour ferry ride to the island. man, this is like travellin to singapore from sitiawan!

the best part of all is, the list of things to brin along for the program…

6. one face towel, ‘good morning’ type (that sounds funny)
11. torchlight & extra batteries (are we jungle trekkin at night?)
12. a penknife (okay, let’s start stabbin each other)
13. herbal insect repellant (why must the “herbal” word be there?)

i was also told that we need to build a “pondok”, cook whatever we can lay our hands on (that’ll be our dinner, so no catch equals no dinner), and build a boat which floats out of things we can find on the island. feels like lost eh, except without planes crashin and weird encounterments.

i will be postin up photos of the trip, so don’t you worry. for the meantime, i would like to tell you that somethin happened this tuesday.

i was a little late for work, and was climbin up the stairs when, upon reachin up, i noticed some wires danglin around and some colleagues of mine were standin outside the door, chattin away. when i walked past them, i overheard one of them sayin that there was a break in the night before.

bein the not-so-kepo one, i waited till evenin before i confronted a lady from the human resources department and started bombardin her with questions. she said that the burglars (suspected more than one) managed to climb into the office 1st floor back window, disable the alarm system, and head straight to the executive director’s room (my uncle is the chief executive director, which is this case is not his room).

what amazed her was that somehow, they know there are important stuffs kept away in the safe inside that room. just so you know, that safe is as tall as me! luckily, the janitor sleepin in the office was startled by the noise made when the burglars broke the door, and quickly dialed the number of a nearby police station.

within minutes, a police patrol car arrived at the scene. they weren’t smart enough though, as they came in from the front entrance whereas the burglars who overheard the police siren, escaped from the back. they seemed the know the placement of the cctvs well in order to disarm the alarm and avoid the cameras. thanks to the janitor’s quick judgement, nothin was stolen.

Paris (Day 2)

We originally planned to go up Eiffel tower in the morning. Which means we might need to go queue at 7am cuz it's a sunday. But due to the extreme tiredness from the previous day, not mentioning spending the night in the bus, we decided to postpone it to the third day.

We started our second day to Musee du Louvre. Everyone knows what it is and everyone knows what's inside. There were too many state-of-the-art sculptures and exquisite paintings it was impossible to appreciate all of them. We managed to see a lot of them though. And yes, Mona Lisa has never failed to gather the most crowd. But well, Nike of Samothrace and Michelangelo's Rebellious Slave and Dying Slave have their own fans as well.

A pic with Pyramid Inversee before we entered the museum.. Tat guy behind very 'cho teng' la..hehe..

Louvre. Very sunny day..*happie*

Our next stop was Notre Dame. It was a sunday when we went, so there were many people in the church. I wondered if the visitors were a distraction for them.

Notre Dame

A miniature of Notre Dame

Based on my map reading skills..ehem ehem..we managed to walk to the Pantheon. However we didn't enter cuz the entry was 7 euros and we thought that we would probably leave that place after 15 minutes..hehe..

We then went to Jardin du Luxermbourg. It's apparently a very famous park. I was pretty amazed actually. I mean the park has museums, palace, water fountain and sculptures everywhere. We had our moments there, and then proceeded to St-Sulpice. I imagined it to be small. But it turned out really big..hehe.. Anyway, we had the chance to see the original zero-longitude line, the Rose Line.

The Rose Line

We had dinner at Chartier. Well, the decoration was plausible. But we had a rather unpleasant experience there. N the food wasn't exactly good as recommended in the survival book we had. In short, highly not recommended..hehe..

The deco in Chartier..

We then went to Eiffel Tower to catch the night view. But we soon realise that the night view was way nicer than the day view!hehe.. N considering the queue wasn't long, partially thanks to a concert held near eiffel tower, we decided to go up eiffel tower during the night. N the view really didn't disappoint us! It was..ooo...romantic..hehe..

Taken by my digital camera from the top of eiffel tower. Not bad eh?

Thanks to some tricks using my sony camera, it looks like sunset eh?hehe..it's actually already dark.

This was the actual lighting.

N finally, to sum up our moments on Eiffel Tower.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
