Syd

I must admit that this trip involves alot of food !
It was such an honour to me that I was able to go to Hillsong Church and to gain first-hand experience of the church community. After the service, we went to MAYA, an indian restaurant which caters really excellent indian food !
Dinner
Dinner

Here I was introduced to Davin’s friends. After dinner, we decided to go to a Cocktail Bar called Rambutan. The irony of this place is that despite it is called Rambutan, the place are managed by local white Aussies. I guess globalization has definitely did her job well to promote Asian cultures.

These are the cocktails we had:
And of course Davin and I took some pics..haha.. u see it took me several attempts to take a successful pic.
Second day !! Both of us had really made the most of our days as I was there for only a short while.
That day, it was all about shopping and having fun ! :D
And so we went to QVB ( Queen Victoria Building)
The internal was really nice, very comfortable with the victorian architecture and design.
Oh the guy below is Davin’s friend, Ryan. The elevator is so nice and it’s an antique !
After all the pics and statements, we are now down to the 3rd day. I was really having great fun !
So we went down to Bondi Junction and had really good bfast which we forgot to take a pic cuz we were so hungry. There was a westfield nearby that has so many good stores ! The shopping mall somehow makes me remininsce of Pavillion in KL..
Oh, and I went to Paul&Joe a Parisian Brand. I so heart the fitting room!
Next, we went down to the city centre again, Pitts Street where most of the shopping areas are. I was contemplating deeply whether to buy this gorgeous white knitted overcoat for 3days!! and finally…..i bought it. hahah.a…sorry. no pic for the overcoat.
Then, there was Darling Harbour the next most popular site after the Opera House.
Darling Harbour understated
Darling Harbour understated

It’s understated cuz the Harbour has so much to offer than wad u see here. It is a must go place ! and I was very fortunate to have Davin to bring me there though initially we thought we would have missed this place.

we were near this beautiful fountain of metal swans !!
oh, and there was the LINDT chocolate place that offers great variety of choccies delicacies !
Then we head back to pack my stuffs and to the airport.
All in all, this was one of the best trip and catch-up I have ever had ! I missed all of us so much being together. Catching up with Davin made me feel as if I am still the same since high school…I guess there are somethings in this world that will never change for me, that is our friendship.

The Best Catch-up event

There I was 3 weeks ago in my office and my apartment contemplating on whether to travel to Sydney. I told myself I should and I will after those long promises since last year to my very good old buddy Davin ( I sound like a countryman). Having myself not realizing his absence in this website, I was determined to meet my fellow friend, on the 19-21july. Prior to this trip, i had all those dramas of getting the tickets and the right hour to push off ( still wished that my flight tickets were cheaper frm Melb-Sydney). U know, I was told by not few people that Sydney had nothing much to do, I realised that not only beauty lies in the eye of beholder but also experiencing different city lies in the eye, mind and soul of a beholder. very deep….. Sydney was most enjoyable !

To end all these new realization and discoveries I have found in me, finally, I calmed myself down and to come to an understanding that it was not the city that fascinated me the most but it was truly about the company I had during those 3 days 2 nights with my friend. We were sooo chatty !! WE talked and laughed oh-so-very-loud the first thing we do in the morning ! without even brushing our teeth. I guess youth has done us well given that we were like a source of energy in the early morning bus we took from the airport when I arrived. I mean the moment we laid our eyes on each other in the airport. WE were on the verge of shouting with laughter (that is the only way I can think of to express the moment). Could you even imagine how loud it would be if Davin and Patricia in the same room?…..My goodness dont even get there to think of what will happen if Pat, Davin, CM, MJ and Alvin in the same room… . . . ahhh…those were good old days.

Alrighty, moving on, once reached in Syd I was supposed to head back home to rest.Well..that didnt quite worked out as Dav and I were very much energized when we talked about ACS so we then head to the town centre! And from a very far distance I took this shot of the famous Opera House.

At that point we were starving so we didnt stop at anywhere but went straight to Pancakes at The Rocks with these great food

(The Chicken Caesar Salad) Simply Amazing~~

Then when we were down to the MAIN !!!

We ate literally like pigs :) !

Notice that I did not mention anything about the pancakes in our dishes…and also no pics to prove that we did order it for our dessert…. hmmph, that’s cause by the time, we finished these two dishes we were so full that we forgot to take a pic of the dessert and it taste ok even though it was suppose to be good. During the meal, both of us kept on thanking God for what He has provided and how faithful He has been to all of us. We both were so touched and amazed by Him cuz we would have never imagined that both of us can meet up in SYDNEY !! that’s like half way across the world….He must have known that we would love those food at Sydney :)

After that we took some photos of the area around the Rocks.

That’s just around the corner of where we had our food. And there was a handikraft market going on with loud and friendly ppl ! ;)

oh, one thg I must point out I m with the Westpac Bank in Australia….and to my surprise and surprise (it’s double) they have a WESTPAC MUSEUM !! gosh..and it is located right next to where I took the pic above. Here goes,

I am still ignorant of what is this wall about….

But we did take a pic together here regardless!

ok, fast forward to somethg more exciting about syd ! the cupcakes !! They are not only tiny, they are also delicious and pretty…but the most important thg they taste so good that you want people to take you home ! HAHAHAHAHA !!

From outside the shop…on Pitts Street.

Aren’t they pretty?……

Let me introduce to you…from the top left: Choc Brownie, Tiramisu and Lemom Meringue.

From the bottom left : Carrot, Green Tea and Banana.

Guess what are our favorites ? See how well you barghers know us ? *WinkSS **

Spot Speed Studies

last week, my highway and transportation engineerin lab did traffic volume studies at the main entrance of uniten. it is basically a study to determine the number of vehicles goin in and out uniten‘s main entrance in an hour time. this was borin, as all we did was to press on a mechanical hand tally counter whenever a vehicle, let’s say a motorcycle, passes by.

this week, it’s somethin different. actually, there isn’t much of a difference as it is still equally borin i would say. come on, how interestin can it be to stand by the side of a road with vehicles zoomin past you, and the sun is givin you a hard time to control your sweat?

i started off by measurin the distance of 50m between two points, with an equipment called measuring wheel.

man, i looked funny =.=”

technically, we have to take down the duration a target vehicle takes to reach from 1 point to another, then divide the constant distance with that period of time. we all learnt that in physics, remember? speed is the rate of motion, or equivalently the rate of change in position, often expressed as distance d traveled per unit of time t.

how nice if all my lab “experiments” are like this. we can easily get it done in just 15 minutes, and spend the remainin time talkin over a cup of teh tarik.

my 22nd burffday

okay, i’ve gotta admit that i wasnt feeling very the happy bout aging…
and on the 17th, there were a couple of plans here and there but i just didnt feel like going through with any of them…
last min during dinner, we decided to go to cloth and clef at changkat bukit bintang.
but linda got a sudden bout of diorrea so she had to stay home…
and than julz called and told me that he was gonna leave CC to head to laundry..
i was so not happy bout the whole…. thing! day! whatever u wanna call it
oh wait, did i mention that the house electricity kept trippin’?
nak mandi pun tak boleh…
every time i take the towel off and poured water over my body, the lights go off
so i had to dry myself in the dark, put the towel back on, and head downstairs to correct the ELCB
guess how many times it happened?
FIVE TIMES!
hahahahahahaha… now when i think about it, its hilarious..
i gave up in the end and hurriedly took a shower in the dark..
and tried to dress in the dark..
well, after that i figured out what was wrong with the ELCB so, well, i could put my clothes on in a decent manner….

and after that, manboobies said he could pick me up..
so i agreed and followed him to wherever he was to go
(so sad kan… no plans, no internet, no electricity…)
and guess where we ended up at?
some dodgy all indian (i’m NOT racist… i’m very much indian inside) club where there was a stripper wannabe…
and worse off, these idiots went and told the singers and dj that it was bday and they HAD to single me out la… ish…
(i seriously hate being stared at…)
but i had baileys.. a huge glass so i was pretty, erm… contented? hahaha

anyways, after that we went to TTDI Plaza and into this club called TAO..
i like that place… the interior is very, homely..
a very nice place to chill out… have some beer… dance…
should really check that place out if u can..! )
anyways, bumped into DJ Bernie there
and he knew it was my bday..
so he went up and, well, announced it to the club…
sigh~ the embarrassment…

nothing much happened after that…
but at 6:15am my phone rang..
guess who it was?
the FLYFM pagi crew!
hahahahaha…
it was hilarious…
fabes, ben and nadia were singing at the top of their lungs..
but it really cheered me up.
really made my day )
needless to say, i couldnt sleep after that hahahahahaha

and today, i finally got to met khairy, vivienne’s son
we had lunch at TGIF…
wrong move kan?
i totally didnt think they’d tell the crew..
and needless to say, my naivity got me into shit… ahaha
i got the whole TGIF birthday treatment…
gosh was it embarrassing!
my face never burnt this badly before!!!!!

met up with usamah after that…
we went around pavilion for a while..
he got me a health bracelet..
really cute looking thing hahaha…
it was fun catching up with him after such a long time..
got to bully him even more.. hahaha

after that i rushed off for practice in ampang..
and i thought they all didnt care..
had dinner at sushi king with rav…
plus he said he was broke…
manatau after practice, he passed me my present..
and its the BEST PRESENT EVER!
its the silk batik outfit that i once wore for MIFA..
been wanting to get it ever since the first time i laid eyes on them..
and now i own them!
he’s really the coolest brother…
last year he gave me my dhol..
my beloved bumbleass…
this year this…
gosh~
how not to love him to bits kan?

oh and thank u for ALL THE WISHES!
its pretty overwhelming actually…
all the wishes on facebook, by text..
pat, raymond, albert, shengjon, seahway, taileong, jinwen, annie.. thank you!
and of course, to will for the book (will always treasure it), ann for the dress (its lovely and everyone loves it.. thanks dear), to RAV (u know how much i’ll treasure it… and yes i love u heaps even if i dont ever mention it to your face, shy…), usamah for the bracelet, vivienne for the lovely lunch, linda and lallu for being there for me, bernie for the lovely lovely dedication, fabes and the morning crew for the wonderful birthday wish, manboobies for letting me be the annoying and irrational bratty bitch that i was, mwah!…
(all these little gestures really made my birthday)
and of course, daddy, mommy, thank u for being all notty and horny and having me )
i LOVE YOU BOTH!

and also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY dearest LINDA! i dont want u to leave~
i dont think anyone else wants u to, either
sigh~
rodin, have an awesome and memorable birthday..
wish i could have celebrated it with u

Movie day^^

I went to midvalley today, with chin yeong, wen yi, poh yee n brendan. We wanted a movie marathon.^^

First up, journey to the centre of the earth.

Verdict: I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE 3D EFFECTS!!

I mean, heck, i really didn't feel anything exciting bout the movie. You know how the usual 3D n 4D makes you feel as if things are heading ur way? I only felt it ONCE throughout the almost 2 hour movie.

N to add up the 'excitement', there were only ONE DINOSAUR in the movie, which appeared for like...hmmm.....5 minutes at the end of the movie? N the best part was the dinosaur wasn't chasing in our direction, it was running towards the side.-_-"

Plus, the 3D glasses GSC provides is uncomfortable. It felt heavy n i was holding it throughout the show.

In conclusion, i really regret paying rm17 to watch the movie. Really think we should have watched the non-3D version for rm7. Arghh....!!!!!

Anyway, the next movie was Hellboy II..=D

Firstly, i felt a lot better cuz we only paid rm7 for the movie, which is very consoling considering the rm17 we paid for the very disappointing movie. Wen yi, chin yeong n brendan didn't join us cuz they went to watch Get Smart.

Instead, poh yee n i watched with cheh sia, choon hau, ken (not my ken..hehe) n andrew.^^
It was not bad. Just like the first Hellboy. I didn't have high expectation so all in all i fell it was pretty entertaining. Worth watching.=)

So, there goes my movie review for chian ming. I mean if u haven watch la..hehe..
