Maxis Broadband Sure Goes Wild

yeap, it’s true. maxis usb modem sure goes wild when you come across weird things.

curious as to what sort of weird things? here are some hints:

wait, what’s this on the subwoofer?

a beetle on the dvd writer?

or a tiger’s tail blocking the floppy drive?

even worse, a butterfly’s wing disallow you to hit your “on” button

who could have done all these semi wilderness? or pure craziness? we shall pretty soon find out.

i sure hope gan doesn’t read this post, as the culprit seemed to be someone very familiar, in my opinion.

the prepetrator

on friday, i went to pc fair at the kl convention centre with my housemates, and on the way there (by car), all sorts of vehicles want to cut into taisoon’s lane dangerously, even a police truck!

at the fair, been determined to buy a printer and a mp4 player, i walked around until we stopped at brother‘s booth. rm199 for a monochrome laser printer? wow! honestly, the recommended sellin price on their official website shows rm369 and therefore, renderin this buy a good buy =)

brother, “at your side”

after that, i wandered off till i came across clamul mp4 player. some china product, although might be unreliable, it seems rather temptin with it’s wide 3.0″ screen and 2gb space (supports microsd up to 4gb). bein a mp4 player, it is capable of playin videos aside from audios (mp3, wma) such as avi, rmvb, mp4, and mpeg4. i have yet to test it with file types like mov, 3gp, and wmv.

big screen, yet very slim

it can also be use as a photo viewer, a fm radio, a voice recorder, and most importantly, a thumbdrive. mind you, the bundled headphone sucks so bad, i can’t hear any base with it. apart from that, the fm receiver seems to be havin difficulties receivin clear radio broadcasts. if your main concern is just the audio and video player function, then this is a good buy for rm189.

hey, i still love my w910i. smaller screen (2.6″), but lotsa “shake”.

Melbourne: Most Livable City?! I don’t think so…

I bet most of you who have been reading the news lately would have known about  the brutal bashing of a Malaysian student right in the heart of Melbourne city. It kinda makes me wonder about how violence is so rampant nowdays, even in a city which have been voted as the most livable city in the world on several occasions.

i tried to put the video from the australian news website but i cant so i would just put the link here.

link

btw….if you guys are wondering,…why havnt they caught the assailants yet. Coz they dun hav biometric ID like our myKAD over here….but for malaysia….even with biometric IDs the police oso cant do anything….u know la….they would be off sipping teh tariks instead of working on their cases. Oh wait…maybe they prefer to work on sodomy cases.

Pak Lah’s Popularity Hits New Low….lol

I haven been following tv news for a very long time cuz i feel they reports are rubb**h. Too politically influenced, n it's everything but the truth.

Hence, when i knew my sis subscribed to malaysiakini, i was elated! So, using her password i could read news on the website also.=)

N today, i so happened to watch tv news, n again, i had the same feeling..
Reading news online is sooo much more interesting! Here are some sites worth visiting..
malaysiakini
susanloone
malaysiainsider
malaysiatoday

Malaysiakini requires subscription to view the whole article so i would suggest reading the other few which are FREE!! N personally, i really like susanloone's blog.^^

Anyway, sth interesting. According to malaysiakini, Abdullah's popularity has plunged to a new low of 42% in july 2008 from 91% in 2004.
Also, 37% of the population surveryed are somewhat dissatisfied and 17% very dissatisfied. Only 7% are very satisfied with him. Other responses being don't know, no response etc..

Hmm, so based on this trend, does it mean by 2012 nobody knows who abdullah is?*smirk*

Anyway, enough bout him, go read them for urself!! really really interesting..=) Well, on a side note, i mentioned i was going to watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall yesterday. But we didn't in the end. Instead we watched Oxford Murders, starring John Hurt and Elijah Wood.

The beginning was rather slow but as it progressed it got ok. But i think cuz we were all dead tired after days of 'tidak cukup tidur', devi went to sleep without finishing the movie, poh yee was half asleep throughout the movie. Only wen yi n i was awake enough to continue watching. But towards the end i felt agitated a lil cuz they stil didn't want to reveal the killer/twist after a long time!

I feel i like the movie (or more of im trying to convince myself i like the movie), cuz at least it kept me awake throughout considering my eyes were already very dry n i was sleepy.
