Syd

I must admit that this trip involves alot of food !
It was such an honour to me that I was able to go to Hillsong Church and to gain first-hand experience of the church community. After the service, we went to MAYA, an indian restaurant which caters really excellent indian food !
Dinner

Here I was introduced to Davin’s friends. After dinner, we decided to go to a Cocktail Bar called Rambutan. The irony of this place is that despite it is called Rambutan, the place are managed by local white Aussies. I guess globalization has definitely did her job well to promote Asian cultures.

These are the cocktails we had:
And of course Davin and I took some pics..haha.. u see it took me several attempts to take a successful pic.
Second day !! Both of us had really made the most of our days as I was there for only a short while.
That day, it was all about shopping and having fun ! :D
And so we went to QVB ( Queen Victoria Building)
The internal was really nice, very comfortable with the victorian architecture and design.
Oh the guy below is Davin’s friend, Ryan. The elevator is so nice and it’s an antique !
After all the pics and statements, we are now down to the 3rd day. I was really having great fun !
So we went down to Bondi Junction and had really good bfast which we forgot to take a pic cuz we were so hungry. There was a westfield nearby that has so many good stores ! The shopping mall somehow makes me remininsce of Pavillion in KL..
Oh, and I went to Paul&Joe a Parisian Brand. I so heart the fitting room!
Next, we went down to the city centre again, Pitts Street where most of the shopping areas are. I was contemplating deeply whether to buy this gorgeous white knitted overcoat for 3days!! and finally…..i bought it. hahah.a…sorry. no pic for the overcoat.
Then, there was Darling Harbour the next most popular site after the Opera House.
Darling Harbour understated
Darling Harbour understated

It’s understated cuz the Harbour has so much to offer than wad u see here. It is a must go place ! and I was very fortunate to have Davin to bring me there though initially we thought we would have missed this place.

we were near this beautiful fountain of metal swans !!
oh, and there was the LINDT chocolate place that offers great variety of choccies delicacies !
Then we head back to pack my stuffs and to the airport.
All in all, this was one of the best trip and catch-up I have ever had ! I missed all of us so much being together. Catching up with Davin made me feel as if I am still the same since high school…I guess there are somethings in this world that will never change for me, that is our friendship.

The Best Catch-up event

July 22nd, 2008 | Posted by -pat- | 4 LoLz

There I was 3 weeks ago in my office and my apartment contemplating on whether to travel to Sydney. I told myself I should and I will after those long promises since last year to my very good old buddy Davin ( I sound like a countryman). Having myself not realizing his absence in this website, I was determined to meet my fellow friend, on the 19-21july. Prior to this trip, i had all those dramas of getting the tickets and the right hour to push off ( still wished that my flight tickets were cheaper frm Melb-Sydney). U know, I was told by not few people that Sydney had nothing much to do, I realised that not only beauty lies in the eye of beholder but also experiencing different city lies in the eye, mind and soul of a beholder. very deep….. Sydney was most enjoyable !

To end all these new realization and discoveries I have found in me, finally, I calmed myself down and to come to an understanding that it was not the city that fascinated me the most but it was truly about the company I had during those 3 days 2 nights with my friend. We were sooo chatty !! WE talked and laughed oh-so-very-loud the first thing we do in the morning ! without even brushing our teeth. I guess youth has done us well given that we were like a source of energy in the early morning bus we took from the airport when I arrived. I mean the moment we laid our eyes on each other in the airport. WE were on the verge of shouting with laughter (that is the only way I can think of to express the moment). Could you even imagine how loud it would be if Davin and Patricia in the same room?…..My goodness dont even get there to think of what will happen if Pat, Davin, CM, MJ and Alvin in the same room… . . . ahhh…those were good old days.

Alrighty, moving on, once reached in Syd I was supposed to head back home to rest.Well..that didnt quite worked out as Dav and I were very much energized when we talked about ACS so we then head to the town centre! And from a very far distance I took this shot of the famous Opera House.

At that point we were starving so we didnt stop at anywhere but went straight to Pancakes at The Rocks with these great food

(The Chicken Caesar Salad) Simply Amazing~~

Then when we were down to the MAIN !!!

We ate literally like pigs :) !

Notice that I did not mention anything about the pancakes in our dishes…and also no pics to prove that we did order it for our dessert…. hmmph, that’s cause by the time, we finished these two dishes we were so full that we forgot to take a pic of the dessert and it taste ok even though it was suppose to be good. During the meal, both of us kept on thanking God for what He has provided and how faithful He has been to all of us. We both were so touched and amazed by Him cuz we would have never imagined that both of us can meet up in SYDNEY !! that’s like half way across the world….He must have known that we would love those food at Sydney :)

After that we took some photos of the area around the Rocks.

That’s just around the corner of where we had our food. And there was a handikraft market going on with loud and friendly ppl ! ;)

oh, one thg I must point out I m with the Westpac Bank in Australia….and to my surprise and surprise (it’s double) they have a WESTPAC MUSEUM !! gosh..and it is located right next to where I took the pic above. Here goes,

I am still ignorant of what is this wall about….

But we did take a pic together here regardless!

ok, fast forward to somethg more exciting about syd ! the cupcakes !! They are not only tiny, they are also delicious and pretty…but the most important thg they taste so good that you want people to take you home ! HAHAHAHAHA !!

From outside the shop…on Pitts Street.

Aren’t they pretty?……

Let me introduce to you…from the top left: Choc Brownie, Tiramisu and Lemom Meringue.

Dinner at Rendezvous

June 25th, 2008 | Posted by -pat- | 12 LoLz

hey all,

I have been wanting to blog something…just couldnt find the right time and the right mood to do so. But here I am with one of those moments.

Last saturday (21june), my aunty asked me out for dinner at a hotel she stayed called Rendezvous located along Flinders Street (in the Melbourne CBD). haha first, to clarify about my ‘aunty’ which I have never used this term to acknowledge unless I need to explain to ppl who I was meeting.

Well, she is an air-hostess for SQ(singapore Airlines) and has flown with them for 11 years !! i cant imagine myself sticking to a company for 11 years….So this year, she is just 32 years old and doesnt look like my aunty at all (my mom’s side just incase, it made you wonder). So i ordered lamb rump, it was alright, i have tasted better but the ambiance and company surpassed the taste. And I am thankful that she treated me :D hahaha. here’s some pictures.

Our main-course dinner:

yes people, I have gained weight !! (it’s winter….) and she is terribly thin (say, 40kg)?

Le dessert ! called semifreddo…that’s a new word to learn.

So that’s all for now.~

Not one moment, I have not been missing my dear barghers pursuing dreams all around the world.

Theatre Production: The Tailor’s Masterpiece

May 22nd, 2008 | Posted by -pat- | 2 LoLz

Hey my dearest barghers,

First of all, I do apologise for my late post regarding what’s going on with my life here. Sorry that I didnt get to keep in touch much as lots were going on with me here.

One of the main events that took place last few weeks were a theatre of my production in the University of Melbourne, Chinese Theatre Group. In this production, I play one of the minor casting roles and as the Production Manager as well. I think some of you has already know about this. Well, the whole production was an excellent experience and I have thoroughly enjoyed myself !

I will talk more about my casting role, which i think is more interesting ~ In Act1, Scene2 I played as the main cast’s ‘mother’(see below) . I wear this really detailed red dress (we have colours representation for each casts) all made by our student costume designers.

Here, I was talking to my son while patting my new-born baby daughter, I was supposedly a gentle mom yet strict in some ways of talking to my children. hehehe..me gentle ? Oh btw, the play is in Cantonese…yea. me speaking canto ? i get that alot..

Coming up after this photo s a pic of my ’son’ and I. She is a female acting as a male cast in this production.

If you see clearly, the make-up on my face are only strictly for theatre make-up. The kits they were using in the make-up were really serious stuffs that gives you pimples right after the next day! ( From left, Evelyn (stage Manager), myself and Nok (the main cast, Yat Hang)).

I am sure some of you will be wondering how the stories go in this theare show. Well as I said just now, I have a newly born baby daughter. Next scene after the above scene, was a fire incident that was deliberately caused by another family to kidnap my daughter away! Hence, I died in the fire, my husband became blind and as a consequence of immediate lost of family love, Yat Hang became mentally distressed. He thought that due to his lack of attention to his father’s clothes business, everyone just went away. Also, he still thinks that his mother is around (there was a manequin in a torn red dress that he thinks is his mother).

Basically, the show goes on about the boy went psycho and killing people using their blood to make dyes for his clothes. Then during the course of the show, we see another family’s tribulation of discovering that their daughter was not their biological. This then led the son (below is a pic of him) to approach their parents to ask his non-biological sister to marry him ( he had been very possessive of his sister) !

just before I go off, this is our casts group photo (Patrick is in too~ ) hehehe..

to be continue…..
