Lightning Can Strike Any Location More Than Once

since jinni is complaining, i should write up what i’m supposed to post 2 weeks ago.

that thursday, i attended an annual appreciation dinner by nehemiah reinforced soil sdn bhd held at tropicana golf & country resort. as my boss was invited, the rest of us tagged along to make it what you call a memorable evening.

when i first got there with my colleagues, i felt so lost. majority of the guest there were… let’s just say much older than us. after registering ourselves on behalf of our boss, we took our seats. not long after that, the event started with some weird drum performance before food is served.

there were a couple of lucky draw sessions taking place in the midst of food-eating action. mind you that each invitation card has a unique number printed on its corner. all i can is, my colleague did pray pretty hard that day. right after his unusual ritual, the number on my boss’ card echoed through the ballroom! his face was shocked in disbelief upon hearing it announced by the emcee, as the ritual he conducted was supposed to be a joke.

off he went, hurrying up the stage to retrieve his prize. i tell you, that wasn’t the end of us. after a short break, the lucky draw continued.

this time again, my colleague performed his odd ritual. ever heard of the old saying “lightning never strikes the same place twice”? that evening, we prove it otherwise , which explains my post title. when the number was called upon again, he stared at the rest of us in disbelief, while i was asked to go claim the prize.

i went up, wearing a jeans and a long sleeve shirt, feeling a little under-dressed. hey, the dress code says casual, right? that evening, my company’s name was famous due to free advertising.

apart from the huge gifts, people were staring at us because we made a little too much noise. i guess we can’t be blamed for being excited over our fortunate evening, can we? the next morning, i can’t resist myself from taking a photo with the prizes.

A Series of Fortunate Events

wait a minute, that is not entirely true. it initially began otherwise.

it started with my new badminton racket which went broken the second time i use it, followed by me getting my elbow’s skin scraped and stings like a bitch.

this weekend, things get a tad bit better when i was at a playboy‘s roadshow in midvalley on saturday night.

i was actually interested in trying out their fragrance, and so happen that night’s event was to promote their new cologne with the line “new fragrance for men”. a chick in bunny suit managed to persuade me into buying one >_<”

among the 4 choices available, i picked the blue one. with that purchase, i was entitled to 3 shots in their dart game. my first two throws missed badly, and before attempting my third, i reminded myself about velocity, friction and gravity, and voila! i killed a blue bunny. with that, i went to claim my prize.

a brief and a notebook. ok la, don’t expect much anyway. if i could win that white sporty car, that would be awesome.
the next day, i went down to sunway pyramid to claim my free pair of converse metallica shoe. i’m not sure if i’ll wear it or not, but since it’s free, why not just take it first?

this blog post is seriously written to kill my boredom. the last picture is so not related, but it doesn’t matter. it would be good to have this message in all public toilets.

So I Put My Hands Up, They’re Playing My Song

it was a friday night, and the clock’s ticking. our plan was to meet up at The Curve. well, it was a gathering to celebrate davin’s birthday!

we assembled at The Library, where we were introduced (by ourselves) to davin’s friends from UTP. enjoy the photos :)

after that, we dropped by Laundry Bar for a lil’ chilling session.

saturday night, we decided to go out for dinner, and jinni recommended Fu Kua Restaurant located in Taman Megah. the pork leg and salted egg chicken were awesome! too bad i wasn’t allowed to bring down my camera :(

after the sumptuous meal, we dropped by changyung’s relative’s house, but he wasn’t around. i then dropped jinni back Happy Mansion as she had to drive back Sitiawan the next day, and the rest came out with this crazy idea of going up Genting in the middle of the night. what the heck, i say, let’s do it!

it was seriously misty that night, and our visibility level was so low that alvin’s car have to go about 20km/hr just to be sure we don’t knock down some pedestrian. but then again, who in their right mind would be out there walking in a chilly misty night? weathers like that sometimes made people do funny things, like those two below.

those seahorses reminded us of alvin’s trip to singapore, where he refused to have his picture taken with the merlion, according to davin :P

poor irene… you know what i mean.

The “Depth” of a University

referring to my post on my convocation ceremony, there’s an important detail which i left out. when receiving the blue file on stage that was supposed to contain my certificate, what lies inside was just a piece of pink paper stating that certificates will only be released once we return our robes and clear all debts with the university.

i’m embarrassed, i truly am :S
