Humpty Dumpty Missed His Great Fall

as the newly elected president for foochow association of klang, my uncle was granted 2 tables in last night’s agm dinner (at least i think it was an agm dinner). all my relatives in selangor made their appearance, except amos’ family.

alot of chitchat and catchin up happened, and what i saw on the menu put a smile on my face. haven’t been back to sitiawan for 10 weeks, i’ve already missed the food, and seein dishes like foochow’s specialty fishball and longevity noodles made me feel like home again… at least for a while.

at the beginnin of the event, we were entertained with 2 songs by this real lala auntie, dressed in a fully glitter-ish shirt. as if that wasn’t enough, she started singin in that high pitch gibberish voice, which i couldn’t get a single mandarin word she sang. even my chinese educated cousins have no idea!

when the torturin moment was finally over, i scoop a bowl of the fishball soup, and tried the fishball. nah, it’s nowhere near to what my granda made, but if you have never try a home-made foochow fishball, then you’ll find this absolutely delicious. knowin that the first dish was already that bad, my cousins and i started havin doubts on the followin dishes.

next on the menu was shark fin soup. my cousin said “how bad can shark fin soup be? there’s no way they could screw that up.” that’s where she was wrong =) the so-called shark fin soup tasted chicken-ish, which was absolutely horrible. the only dishes edible that night was the longevity noodles in kolo mee style. funny, i always thought longevity noodles are the noodles used in red wine noodles.

as i forgot to mention, at the start of the dinner, each table was entitled 10 coupons for a lucky draw event throughout the night. who will stand a chance to win those awesome hampers? let’s find out.

forgive me for the blurry image, as it was taken with my phone’s camera

as the night proceeds, the size of the prize hampers gets bigger and bigger. when it came to the last hamper for that night, a familar lucky draw number was called out. when it was repeatedly called, my shark fin soup cousin realized that the number called belonged to my youngest cousin, who was busy playin games on his dad’s mobile set!

hurryin up the stage, the little one was excited and thrilled to be able to win the largest hamper for the night. not like he knows what is it anyway. things turned hilarious when he was supposed to hold the hamper for photo session on the stage. he was seen imbalance tryin to lift a hamper almost his own size! luckily, my uncle (the one mentioned in the first sentence of this post) helped him to hold the hamper on stage.

the hamper won was as tall as his neck

in fact, instead of bein a good cousin and rush up to help him carry, i sat on my chair laughin with the rest of my relatives, while another cousin of mine went to his rescue. the event finally ended at 10 somethin.

Liberated, Freed and Emancipated

Serious post ahead, might be boring.

Exams are finally over, and so should be my stress. However, to me, that’s not exactly the case though…. There has been many distractions for me throughout the year, resulting to minimal study on my part. As a student, I didn’t think I fulfilled my responsibility. There are various instances where I should have done something, but instead more than often, nothing is done. Even if there’s some action on my part, that act it self doesn’t contribute to my final goal as a university student.

Disappointed I am, with myself. I really am not sure what the hell on Earth has gotten into me since I left school a few years ago. Perhaps it has always been like this, perhaps it is just that I had two pairs of watchful eyes that ensured that I did what I am supposed to do back then. Freed of the guidance, I guess that part of me which had always been sealed off is awakened by various stimuli present in the real world.

Funny as it seem, hardwork is not so much a virtue anymore these days. People, the younger ones, often try put on airs by claiming that with minimal or no work on their part, they are able to achieve desirable results. The value of hardwork is depreciating, as a function of time. It appears that the new generation are placing inborn talent above hardwork, so much so that everyone wants to be part of the gifted group who are bestowed upon by the heavens. I sure was a fool myself, to believe such moronic lies, and to share such deluded views. If indeed I was given a choice of the title of geniuses, I’d definitely choose to be a Genius of Hardwork.

Stupid and foolish are the only words that can describe me, though they are not sufficient. Sloth has gotten into me as well, a result, I believe, of my foolish views of nature of things. No more did I believe that I should work for things that I desired. Instead, I was began to wished that things would just fall off the sky, right through the roof and onto my laps. Foolish indeed.

Perhaps this is one of the few times where the better part of me is conscious. But I do not know how long this state of mind will last. I truly fear that I might slip back into the oblivion conjured by Sloth. All pleasure’s the same, it just keeps me from problems. Problems that I ought to provide a solution to. Perhaps I should just find comfort in pain. It will be tough, but I don’t think I’m left with much options.

I don’t intend to say more, I think I’ve said enough. I also don’t think I will be responding much to this post. If you find it meaningless, sorry I have wasted your time.

Food I cooked in Germany

Im back in m'sia for almost a week now. N just realised i forgot to post the most important post of all! How can i forget to acknowledge my hard work!hehe..

Well, western food isn't exactly my kind. Not that i don't like it. In fact, i love it! But not everyday though. Tak boleh tahan.

So...
I cooked most of the days, unless we go out, or im lazy..hehe..
Below are a series of my breakfast 'masterpieces'...=)

The mayo was put by me. In case u think there's nothing wrong with it. I've also attached another photo below where kenneth put the mayo. Just for comparison, for obvious reasons.-_-"

Next! The lunches n dinners that i cooked. Just a note, due to the lack of vege in germany. My options were narrowed to brocolli, 'bo lei sang choi' n carrots. There are oso some others like capsicum, asparagus etc which i don't know how to cook..*acting innocent*

Hehe, this is one example when i'm lazy to cook.^^
Well, notice the hand there. It's cuz ken cooked the fried rice. N he's very proud of it. That was the only time he cooked when i was there.=P

There goes. I feel very proud of myself!! I think those were my sole most cooked meals within a month. N if u noticed, almost all the meals have this either mushroom potato or mushroom carrot.

The reason behind was cuz after the first time i cooked it, kenneth got so addicted to it n asked me to cook everyday. Even i muak of cooking it d oso he stil wasn't. So it wasn't that i didn't have other things to cook k!

P/s: I didn't take photos of all the food i cooked. Probably missed out 2 or 3. But the above are pretty much all of it.*winks*
